Liver T cells in obesity-associated diabetes.

چکیده
Pattern formation in the brain Neurons in the developing brain cooperate to build circuits. Mountoufaris et al. found that ~50 variable protocadherin genes support a combinatorial identity code that allows millions of olfactory neuron axons to sort into ~2000 glomeruli. Sharing olfactory receptors drives axons to one glomerulus, and protocadherin diversity allows the multiple axons to touch each other as they converge. On the other hand, Chen et al. found that a single C-type protocadherin underlies the tiled distribution of serotonergic neurons throughout the central nervous system. The Role of Fetuin-A in Diabetes and Obesity: The Mechanism and Action
Fetuin-A is a phosphorylated glycoprotein produced by liver. It by binding to calcium ion inhibits ectopic calcium deposition and protects vascular calcification. Fetuin-A acts as a multifactorial protein and its role has been documented from brain development to bone remodeling and immune function, regulation of insulin activity, hepatocyte growth factor activity and inhibition lymphocyte blast...
متن کاملThe Effect of 12 Weeks Resistance Training on FOXO1 Expression in Hepatocytes, Glucose and Insulin in Diabetic Rats- A Brief-Report
Objective: In diabetic patients, hyperglycemia is associated with impaired FOXO signaling pathways in liver cells. This study aimed to determine the effect of resistance training on FOXO1 expression in liver hepatocytes and fasting glucose levels in type 2 diabetic rats. Materials and Methods: In this experimental study, type 2 diabetes induced by intraperitoneal injection of nicotinamide-STZ ...
متن کاملAnti-Obesity, Fat Lowering and Liver Steatosis Protective Effects of Ferula asafoetida Gum in Type 2 Diabetic Rats: Possible Involvement of Leptin
Objective: Control of weight gain is an important strategy in reducing the diabetes incidence. Recently, herbal drugs have been used as a complementary and alternative medicinal care. This study was conducted to determine the effect of Ferula asafoetida on weight gain, fat accumulation, liver steatosis and leptin level. Materials and Methods: All rats of control and treatment groups received d...
متن کاملO-3: Obesity, Insulin Resistance and Their Correlation with Testosterone Levels in Male Patients
Background: Obesity and insulin resistance refer to a clustering of various medical conditions, with a number of pathological components that contribute to the development of diabetes and cardiovascular disease. Some studies have shown that free testosterone levels are low in obese men and are inversely correlated with the degree of obesity. In addition, leptin levels increases with obesity tha...
متن کاملInverse Associations between Obesity Indicators and Thymic T-Cell Production Levels in Aging Atomic-Bomb Survivors
Reduction of the naive T-cell population represents a deteriorating state in the immune system that occurs with advancing age. In animal model studies, obesity compromises the T-cell immune system as a result of enhanced adipogenesis in primary lymphoid organs and systemic inflammation. In this study, to test the hypothesis that obesity may contribute to the aging of human T-cell immunity, a th...
متن کاملThe Effect of Resistance Training on G6Pase Gene Expression in Liver Hepatocytes, Glucose and Insulin Resistance Levels in Type 2 Diabetic Rats
Objective: The aim of this study was to determine the effect of 12 weeks resistance training on G6Pase expression in liver cells, as well as glucose and insulin levels in type 2 diabetic rats. Materials and Methods: In this experimental study, 16 wistar rats were selected as the research sample. After injection of nicotinamide and streptozocin to induce diabetes, the rats were randomly divided...
